We aren't apart of the right club of bikes: Rainbow Beach - Maryborough

Sadly leaving Rainbow beach today (probably if we hadn't run out of water we would have stayed) but we did it in good spirits, lots of energy and super early as it's 100 km to the next town at Maryborough. It was almost funny how different the hills were going out of Rainbow beach. Whereas we struggled on the way in we would have called the rode easy on the way out. It just goes to show how different your mood and energy level are at different points of the day and how important a rest day is!

Today was our first encounter with super huge trucks, I forgot to take any photos but along the Cooloola coast drive there were these HUGE logging trucks that flew along at 100 km/h!

We flew like crazy through the 100 km into town. The only set back was a small monster tracking me down and attaching itself to me which led to the fastest hill anyone has ever ridden as I wanted to get to the top so Jake could save me from it. It was pretty terrifying. I was pretty brave.
Vicious creature
We got into town at 2:15 feeling pretty impressed with ourselves for the speedy trip and treated ourselves to $3.50 fish and chips! Someone mentioned in passing that the Ulysses club was having their annual AGM in the town that week but we shrugged it off as a small event and nothing to be worried by.

We looked around town and found some beautiful parks before heading up to the showgrounds to stake our claim to some ground and showers. Arriving at the showers we saw it was tent city and were stopped by a very serious security lady at the entrance and told we weren't on the right sort of bikes to have entrance to the grounds. Going back to the information we were told the entire of Maryborough was booked out and there was possibly only a few tent sites left. Dismayed we headed to one of the campground were we forked over an astonishing $26 for a campground (he did left us charged our phone) and quickly had dinner (fish with curried potatoes) and fell asleep.
